Wednesday’s Weather and a bookish conundrum . . .

It’s more autumn than spring this morning in Te Kuiti, New Zealand with morning mist, drizzle, and it’s cold out there!

We are in the first day of Level 2 – Delta style today. 🀞

I was clearing my emails over my morning coffee, and there was one from a certain publisher who shall remain nameless, declining my request for an ARC because my feedback ratio is too low – 67%. Okay, I thought, fair enough. BUT it was for a book in a series of which I have read and reviewed all the earlier books.

The following email was from the same publisher, offering me a widget – for the same book πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ€£ Yes, I downloaded it very quickly before they changed their minds again.

Has anyone else had this happen?

Have a wonderful Wednesday!πŸ₯‚

  1. Hope your weather improves Sandy!! I actually have had a decline only to turn around and get an invite before. One hand not communicating with the other apparently.🀣 What I get annoyed at is getting an email with quick, first such and such read now while I’ve already requested and it’s sitting unanswered but since it’s there I can’t “read now”.

  2. What a beautiful sunrise. I’m sure you will have a few more cool days, but it is so nice to have warmer days ahead. I have had that happen a few times Sandy, and I’m with you, I click before they change their mind. I hope you enjoy it after all that. Take care.

      1. Oh dear, we had a bad storm last night, although not as bad as originally predicted. I had to put all the cushions in the garage and baton down the hatches, but better to be safe. I hope you get nicer weather soon.

  3. We knew there was a tropical distubance in the Gulf of Mexico last night but by the time we finished wtching a movie, it had become a tropical storm called Minday and made landfall about 100 miles west of us! Crazy weather.

I seriously don’t now what makes a publisher turn us down or approve a selcetion. I have read every single book by Peter Robinson in his Inspector Banks series yet I was declined his latest book. Same with a few other authors I have read and reviewed before. Who knows. I’m glad they gave you a reason though, I never get a reason.

    1. Over zealous newbies to the job, perhaps? We’re looking at another week or so of unsettled weather with lots of rain, which will make the farmers happy because apparently we are in for a hot, dry summer. So I will be in paradise πŸ˜Šβ€πŸ“š
