Time, once again, to take a look at what I’m currently reading, what I am planning on reading in the coming week, and what ARCS I have been approved for from NetGalley this week.
Again, it hasn’t been a big reading week for one reason or another. I seem to have spent a great deal of time driving this week, which I quite enjoy. I have my younger son home from Western Australia, and have also spent time with my older son and his family. I participated in my very first blog tour (see yesterday’s post). A satisfying week.
Currently I am about to start
My review will be posted tomorrow.
And I am listening to
I am ashamed to say that this is my first book by this NZ author. I was quite surprised to find it has an English setting.
This week I am reading
Yes, I was supposed to get to it last week, but it never quite happened. It is my priority this week.
A sinister novel about finding justice in revenge, perfect for fans of In a Dark, Dark Wood and I Let You Go
After years of estrangement from her family, Mags receives a shocking phone call. Her rebellious brother, Abe, is in a coma, and the police suspect he tried to take his own life. But Mags isn’t so sure, and she begins to crack away at the life of the brother she once knew: the dark apartment building, the whispering tenants, and her brother’s mysterious girlfriend, the only witness to the incident, who raises more questions than answers. As Mags picks up where the police left off, she begins to unearth the secrets her brother left behind—and awakens her own talent for revenge.
You trust her with your family. Would you trust her with your life?
Mark and Melissa Cain are thrilled to have found Jade, a babysitter who is brilliant with their young children. Having seen her own house burn to the ground, Jade needs them as much as they need her. Moving Jade into the family home can only be a good thing, can’t it?
As Mark works long hours as a police officer and Melissa struggles with running a business, the family become ever more reliant on their babysitter, who is only too happy to help. And as Melissa begins to slip into depression, it’s Jade who is left picking up the pieces.
But Mark soon notices things aren’t quite as they seem. Things at home feel wrong, and as Mark begins to investigate their seemingly perfect sitter, what he discovers shocks him to his core. He’s met Jade before. And now he suspects he might know what she wants …
Mark is in a race against time to protect his family. But what will he find as he goes back to his family home?
Have received only one approval from NetGalley this week
I haven’t read this author before but have heard a lot of good things about her.
And this week, I have a grandson’s birthday, so lots of baking to do, I take my younger son back to the airport to head back to Broome in Western Australia, and who knows what the remainder of the week will bring.
Don’t forget to let me know what you’re reading and, if you have read any of my upcoming reads, what you thought of them.
Happy reading everyone!
